Prepare Your Golf Cart for the Coming of Winter

Playing golf can be fun any season, but for your Golf cart, too much cold can be a little damaging. Before the temperature drops, make sure that you are fully equipped with the right protective gears to take care of your golf cart. Follow a simple proper storage of your golf cart and get a high quality golf cart covers to make it last during the winter.

Here are some quick tips on how to you can prepare your low speed vehicle for the change in temperature.

Wash

Thoroughly wash the surface as well as the underneath of your golf cart. Rinse away corrosion, dirt, grass, from top of batteries and make sure that every part of your vehicle is clean and free from harmful elements.

Fill Tires with Air

As the temperature rises, so does the pressure in your tires. Fill your tires with air to 25 pounds per square inch (psi). Make sure that the key is in the off position and devices such as the directional signals are off. Low tire pressure can dangerously affect your golf cart and may even lead to blown tire.

Check the Batteries

Car batteries can be damaged with extreme temperatures. Examine the batteries cables and cable ends, checking for damage caused by corrosion. Replace badly damaged part to maintain the condition of your golf cart. Fill the batteries with distilled water just under the plug inset under the battery caps. Do not overfill the batteries. Charge the batteries overnight.

Store Golf Cart Indoors

Protect your cart against inclement weather by stalling your cart in the garage. Use golf cart cover to protect your vehicle against extreme temperatures. If you can’t store your cart indoors, make sure to secure it place so that it won’t be blown away in windy conditions. Make sure to avoid snagging the cover on any sharp points that could tear holes in the cover while installing golf cart covers. If possible, get someone to help you install and remove the cover from your golf cart.
